Notes : No circulation $50 dollar notes were issued in 2000, 2001, or 2002.
There were also two design modifications introduced with this new series of notes.
Signatures : On previous issues the signature of the Secretary to the Treasury appeared above that of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia. This was reversed from this issue.
Portraits : The names of the people portrayed on the notes had their names printed underneath their portrait and included as part of the design.
